Java Relief is a special kind of coffee retailer. We sell high quality coffee that's fresh roasted, on demand. What makes us unique is that we are a volunteer company and 100% of our profits go directly to children at risk. Our hearts have been broken seeing the overwhelming need and sadness of so many of these children. Whether they are orphans, slave or sex-trafficked victims, or simply living in an unsafe and impoverished environment. We feel it is our God-given task to fight for these children — to provide meals, clothing, education and better homes.

Stories

Welcome to the Java Relief stories site where we talk about our passion of helping children at risk worldwide. Wake Up Do Good!

"We have no way to keep anything cold for the children. No milk, no meat." Pastor Cenor

His name is Pastor Cenor.  We've spent a lot of time with him in Haiti; sometimes he's our driver and escort and other times we've just been able to hang out with him. We love this man's heart for children in need!

We first met Cenor when Don Shire, of Don Shire Ministries (DSM), took us to visit the Faith in Action orphanage several years ago.

There are 24 orphans that live at the Faith in Action home, along with Pastor Cenor, his wife and their two young children. Their home is crowded with rooms full of bunk beds and a small outdoor courtyard to play in. The children all go to school, all have their chores, are super sweet and fun to hang out with. Together they make a beautiful family! We have fallen in love with all of them, but we do have our "favorites", simply because every time we go, the same ones come running to hug us!

Cenor is a man full of joy but we know he has a tough and hectic life. Not only does he provide for his family and run the orphanage, he also pastors six churches. As we sat down and talked on this last trip, he shared the current needs of the orphanage. He showed me his freezer and refrigerator that were broken down. He said, "We have no way to keep anything cold for the children. No milk, no meat." If that's not bad enough, they also need a new washer. Right now they're doing all the laundry by hand. Can you imagine? Laundry for 24 children plus Cenor's family. That's a lot of laundry!

But, great news! Together with the financial help of the  Waconia-West Carver Rotary Club, and profits from coffee sales, we were able to purchase a brand new freezer,  refrigerator and washing machine for them. What a blessing!

Jva Relief was able to buy the orphanage a new refrigerator, freezer and washing machine. What a blessing to give!
